Understanding Hamster Sounds
Author: Nadia VellaSource: www.hamster-club.com
Hamsters do not make many sounds. When they do make sounds or vocalizations, hamsters do so for important reasons.
Do not expect your hamster to purr contentedly or respond to idle chit-chat.
Here are some explanations when hamsters make sounds:
- A frightened hamster will squeak loudly.
- A hamster that feels threatened will chatter or grind his/her teeth.
- Sometimes when hamsters are in a very deep sleep, they may do a soft squeaking sound which means that they are contently in a deep sleep and possibly dreaming!
- Sometimes when you
house hamsters of different genders in the same room, the hamsters may squeak to each other especially when the
female hamster is in
oestrus!
